The Billabong Invitational Surfing Cup competition at Cloud Nine, Siargao, (21-27 October, 2009) draws the best of the best in the surfing World to enjoin in celebrating this minuscule point on planet Earth, where the entire Pacific Ocean seems to want to come ashore in a hurry. Defiantly, for a brief moment, this one tiny piece of reef at Cloud Nine mesmerizes the mighty Pacific and causes a billion water droplets to rise in unison on their journey towards the beach and finally to crash in sequential applause along a three hundred metre long st

The Fat Boy 10s Rugby Tournament in Clark Field, Angeles City, (4-5 September 2009) is the fun rugby competition in the Philippines for the larger than life rugby players who are (mostly) past their sell-by date. Rugby stars of yesteryear, from around the World, make guest appearances to thrill the crowds with their skills and sign autographs. This year you can expect to see: Doddie Weir, legendary Scottish International and Joe Shaw, England and Newcastle Falcons.

Taal Lake is now on the Internet with its own webcam.
Last year we introduced you to MyCam-Asia.tv - a free travel services website that provides real-time advertising and promotion for tourist destinations around Asia. Yesterday MyCam-Asia.tv announced the installation of their latest IP camera (webcam) in the grounds of the Taal Lake Yacht Club, Taal Lake, Batangas.
The view from the Taal Lake webcam shows the northwest vent of Taal volcano, the one that most people assume (incorrectly) is the main crater of Taal volcano, and the volcano tours boats of the Taal Lake Yacht Club . . . ready in waiting to take tourists on volc

Until recently Nik was one of the most popular dive instructors in Puerto Galera and then he just disappeared. Some said the Coral Cove thresher shark got him, others spoke of sirens. In fact he was one of two chief divers for Nautik Recovery Asia, a private company headed by Klaus Keppler on a secret mission to unlock the treasure and history of the Forbes – an English flagged privateer – that hit the then uncharted Discovery Reef off Belitung Island, Sumatra, Indonesia, in 1806. The wreck of the Forbes was discovered laying in 36-40 metres of water.
Today, Nik telephoned with the story of his work as part of the team who uncovered the treasure-filled wreck of the Forbes. In his first interview since the Forbes discovery became public knowledge, Nik described the moment the first treasure was recovered from th
