The Presidents Cup Regatta 2009 will be held in the waters off beautiful Boracay Island, between 18th – 21st February.

The Presidents Cup Regatta follows the Manila Boracay Race and is billed as the windiest sailing regatta in Asia. The most expensive racing yachts will be here, racing alongside entrants from all around the Philippines; Boracay Island is one of two places in Asia where good sailing breeze and blue water is virtually guaranteed (Puerto Galera is the other).

The President’s Cup Regatta is the most competitive Philippine sailing event, organized by the Manila Yacht Club. The yacht racing takes place in the waters around Boracay Island and can be viewed by spectators sitting on the possibly the best beach in Asia – the world famous, white sand Boracay beach. The best opportunities for action photography will be in spectator boats, on the water during the event; the best opportunity for a party will be every night at one Boracay beach resort or restaurant or sports bar or another, when Boracay beach turns romantic with candlelit sand sculptures and soft music drifting on the warm tropical evening breeze.

The Presidents Cup Regatta 2009 on Boracay Island promises to be the is the best place to be in February to enjoy the spirit of yachting in the Philippines. Don’t forget your sunblock if you are out on the water for the action photography!

If you want to get to Boracay Island for the Presidents Cup Regatta then you can fly direct from Clark International Airport (DMIA) in Pampanga or from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila. Alternatively, you can take the road / ferry route from Manila to Batangas, across Mindoro to Roxas and on to Caticlan, Aklan.
