Philippine International Cricket Sixes 2009, will be held at the Parade Ground, Clark Field, Angeles City, Pampanga, on 20th – 22nd February.
The Philippine International Cricket Sixes at Clark Field marks the second time this annual celebration of international cricket comes to the Philippines. Teams will arrive from almost all cricket playing nations to Clark Field and Angeles City, to enjoy a weekend of gentlemanly sports. The sound of leather on willow will echo around historic Fort Stotsenburg to much applause, the passion for victory between the wickets will be running high.
The event is open to everyone and it is expected to draw more than one thousand spectators into Clark Field and Angeles City, so you had better book your hotel rooms now if you want to be there for the whole event. If you are living in Manila or Subic Bay then the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressways (SCTEx) can deliver you with good speed to Angeles City, adjacent to Clark Field, so day-tripping is feasible if you can’t find a hotel room.
While at Clark Field, you may remember that we announced the opening of The London Pub in the last issue of GetWet Philippines. The London Pub is just off the Parade Ground and will be open for the entirety of the weekend event. No doubt they will be serving cucumber and smoked salmon sandwiches along with lemonade and a few pints of English beer . . . I can vouch for quality of the fish and chips at The London Pub.
