Punta Fuego Regatta 2010 – All Sorts Of Sailing

The Punta Fuego Regatta is perhaps the most diverse sailing regatta on the Philippine racing calendar, with boats of every shape and size competing for recognition in divisions especially created for them. In addition to keeled sailing yachts, cruising catamarans and trimarans Punta Fuego regularly hosts the Hobie 16 fleet from Taal Lake. This year the country's new Optimist sailing dinghies (first raced in Puerto Galera the weekend before) will be raced by competitors from Puerto Princesa, Puerto Galera, Manila and Subic Bay.

Philippine Kayaking Series: Marathon Crossing Taal Lake 2010

The Philippine Kayaking Series continues with the first ever 32km Kayak crossing from Talisay to Pansipit River. This 32km kayak marathon event is part of a kayaking event for the protection of Taal watersheds, with Pusod, an NGO, committed to implement the Taal Volcano Protected Landscape.

For decades Taal Lake has been used and abused by local (and not so local) communities, to its detriment. Galleon Trade News: Galleon Andalucía Arriving Manila 6th October

UPDATE 4th October 2010: The replica Manila Galleon Andalucía will arrive Manila Bay from Shanghai on the morning of 6th October and remain in Manila, wharfed at Manila Port, until 9th October. Galleon Andalucia will set sail for Cebu on 9th October. While in Manila she will be open to the public from 8am to 4pm daily (closed for lunch).
