The Veterans 7-a-side Football Tournament was originally organised to give veterans (those rendered competent through trial and experience) of all nationalities a chance to experience once again their youthful poise and listen to applause rippling around the grounds as they loft a lazy goal past a slightly too rotund goalkeeper.<\/p>\n<p>Today, however, the competition is taken very seriously on the football (&#8216; soccer &#8216; to the rest of the World) field and participating veterans train for weeks before the event to maximise their chance of success for their team. <!--cut here-->Some of the players actually look as sprightly as they did in their teens and twenties but invariably the stamina factor clips the top end of their performance. But what they lack in performance they make up for in experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Veterans 7-a-side Football Tournament is open to all spectators from everywhere in the World and you are encouraged to enjoy Nomad Sports Club hospitality throughout the weekend.
