The Philippine Kayaking Series 2009 continues with the third leg Explore Cebu to Bohol from 27th November - 3rd December. The Cebu to Bohol leg of the kayaking series will cover approximately 125 kilometers in marathon races over four days and there will be Novice kayaking races and Kayaking Clinics at each destination along the route, so that new paddlers can be initiated in the delights of the sport of kayaking.

The from Mactan Island, Cebu, a fleet of kayaking enthusiasts will go on an island hopping exploration of the smaller and larger islands in the Cebu-Bohol group - and get to see the famous Chocolate Hills of Bohol, the home of the cutest critter on the planet - the Philippine tarsier

Scuba Diving Seen as Hedge Against Recession

According to dive shop operators that we spoke to within the last ten days, in Puerto Galera, Mactan Island and Subic Bay, the Philippine scuba diving business is solid and shows no signs yet of suffering from the global recession.

Part of the reason for the resilience of Philippine scuba diving was put down to the fact that most international arrivals in the past month had already booked and paid for their Philippine diving vacations long before the recession took hold in the rest of the world.
